I have a sweet tooth. I always have. But I also try to stay conscious about my health and believe that a true balance and simplicity is one of the most important aspects to a happy and healthy life.
As I’ve mentioned before, I moved my wife and son to the heart of Hollywood a few short months ago. Although we only traveled about 90 miles from our suburban home in San Diego, the change in our day-to-day lives has been significant. We are able walk almost everywhere, whether to run errands or just get some fresh air. We’re surrounded by tourists (not necessarily a bad thing!), and we love the energy and bustle of urban living.
One of the few pleasures I have each week is to venture out for groceries and snacks for both my wife and I, as well as our 19-month-old son Fox. It’s rare that I make one of these trips without picking up one or more items to satisfy my sweet tooth. This is a good part to clarify that my favorite items are not chocolate or traditional candies. I like the fruity, sour, or tart treats to satiate my cravings. The only problem is that these items are usually filled with sugar, mostly artificial and provide no nutrients whatsoever.
But I’ve found a delicious workaround and a healthy snack alternative. A few weeks ago, in the dead of summer, I had an urge for something sweet. I ventured downstairs into our nearby store and was drawn to the frozen treats area. I couldn’t help but pick up a pack of the Outshine Fruit Bars that were calling out my name. With the hot sun and even hotter black Walk of Fame sidewalk radiating the heat, those all-fruit bars were the perfect refresher.
We’ve made a push to live our lives a bit simpler. From our living space to our meals, I’ve taken to a new philosophy: simplicity is key. I think that’s why I was drawn to the Outshine Fruit Bars in the first place.
Be sure to check your local store for Outshine Fruit Bars and visit them on Instagram for a refreshing glimpse of the last wonderful days of summer.
