Adding Some Fizz to Family Game Day!

I grew up a football fan. From the time I could walk, I had a football in my hand, helmet on my head. I played football growing up, and throughout high school I played quarterback for a division 1 California high school. Now that I can officially confirm my ineligibility for the pro draft, I have taken to enjoying the stats, analysis and social aspect of the game. It doesn’t hurt that it lands right in the middle of my favorite time of year: autumn.

The weather couldn’t be better, the anticipation of winter is building but the chaos hasn’t quite hit, and it’s the perfect time for great food and great drinks. Now while I was touring as a musician, I built up some pretty bad habits, particularly living off of gas station food and sodas while on the road. It was 2019 that really set me on a new path though – I’ve starting eating healthier and choosing my drinks much more wisely. That’s why I snagged the Sparkling Ice Pink Variety pack to stock our fridge for game days this fall. They’re packed full of flavor without a single gram of sugar.

All this talk about tasty beverages distracted me from the point at hand: football. Remember that love for the game that was brewed in me as an infant? Yeah well my boy could not care less about the games on Sunday. The jury’s still out on Charlie (our 7 month old) – but I’m guessing he’s going to take after his brother and be indifferent towards America’s game.

My one solace is that Fox is a truly loving soul – and his biggest moments of joy come when he can see that his actions make me happy. He will enthusiastically cheer with me while I watch my home team come back from two scores down and be just as morose as I am when they lose a close one.

This last weekend we picked up the Sparkling Ice Pink Variety pack to try all the flavors during the games – Black Cherry, Peach Nectarine, Coconut Pineapple, and Pink Grapefruit. While I was a huge fan of the Pink Grapefruit, Fox was all about the Black Cherry. The crazy thing is that it’s water, but with natural colors and flavors, vitamins and antioxidants, and zero sugar.

And when we have even more family coming over, we like to get a little fancy with a Sparkling Ice Ginger Grapefruit Spritzer! Just take the amazing Pink Grapefruit Sparkling Ice, add a pinch of ginger, a pinch of stevia sweetener, a mint leaf and a slice of grapefruit garnish and you’re money!

Do you have any good recipes for this fall? Be sure to pick up the Sparkling Ice Pink Variety pack from a store near you!

Cheers, Ty
